Power of the mind
THE MIRACLE OF A TRANSFORMED MIND...
Romans 12:2
2 And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.
In 2013, one of the then leading telecommunications super-brands, officially sold its mobile phone business to Microsoft. Nokia, the beloved phone of all time, began breathing its last. A few short years before that, it had been the leading mobile phone seller, having solely sold over half the mobile phones in the world at some point. But in the year 2010, its fortunes began to nosedive and in three unbelievably short years, their global sale plummeted to only a meager 3%. There was no mega corruption, misappropriation of funds or mismanagement in play. In fact during the press conference to announce the transition, Nokia CEO Stephen Elo, ended his speech with the now infamous grieving sentiment: “We didn’t do anything wrong, but somehow, we lost”. Upon saying that, all his management team, himself included, teared sadly. A sad true story indeed!
The downfall of Nokia is a tale of the lack of intricate balance between business acumen (good intentions and best practice) and transformational thinking. This lack of ability to change and learn new things quickly, promptly delivered them to their ultimate demise. In essence, Nokia didn't do anything wrong, their competitors just managed to do the right thing quicker! That not only stole the show from them, it also stole their very survival! Their thoughts were well intended but their way of thinking cost them a mega business.
It is not the thoughts of a man that make a man, it is how he thinks; the school of thought he enrolls in and the perspectives that that school promotes. Of a truth, the outcomes of your life betrays your mind. The way you think will soon show up in your life; thought processes attract consequences, ramifications, effects and outcomes. There are many voices that will speak to you but what you say to yourself in the private recesses of your mind makes a lot of difference - even financial.
A transformed mind is not excused from fear but it stopped being a victim of it. It is not exempted from failure and defeat but it stopped being submitted to failure. Simply put, a transformed mind, prioritized transformation about hurdles and comfort. To it, obstacles on the road are not the end of the road but a beauty spot on the smooth skin of life. It is one thing to embrace the normalcy of living as it is by default but an entirely different thing to create your own world of experiences by transforming your mind. It is possible to live a different life from everyone else while still living with everyone else. A mind that understands life, enjoys life; because life doesn't become better when things change, life becomes better when you change. A transformed mind locates the wisdom for that difference.
What we need is not a normal mind that sees things from an eye level view but one that can rise up high above the noise, the clutter, the hustle and the bustle of regular life and identify possibilities, the way out of calamity and the way forward into advancement. Thinking big and healthily entails having a broader capture of the height you wish to attain. Whenever this picture is missing, any height appears good enough. In fact there is no man who is greater than his mindset because as a man thinks in his heart so is he. Thinking is not in the product called thoughts but in the process of thinking that produces those thoughts. Once you engage in transformed thinking, you should be in a position to lay strategies on evaluating and responding to the problems that may arise in the processing of developing yourself and making the best of your inner potentials.
You can overwhelm defeat in your life by thinking right, staying in faith and commanding yourself to remain on top of things. You can win in your mind regardless of the overwhelming floods of negative thoughts aggressing to occupy your mind. You need not be overcome with discouragement or dissuasion about your dreams; you can think yourself right into victory. Never allow negative thoughts to incapacitate and disable your progress; be the boss and take charge! In fact train your mind to reject defeatist thinking and embrace healthy schools of thought. Be transformed by the renewal of your mind that you may appreciate what is the good and acceptable and perfect will of God for you.
For instance, If you confine yourself to think like a non-inquisitive Kenyan, you might think that great wealth can only come from corruption and drug dealing, but if you think with a transformed mind you will know that it is possible to have a good reputation, clean prosperity and a pure legacy, all wrapped up in one. Speak yourself into your miracles and push yourself into your breakthroughs Through transformational thinking. After all, it is your responsibility to stay inspired until you win!
Don't become redundant until the cost of your survival becomes an expense mandated upon other people. Change your mind! Whatever you would like to come out of; be it pain, hurt or poverty, you will have to come out of it head first. If your mind shall leave captivity, the rest of your life and being shall inevitably follow suit. Mental captivity is the worst of all forms because a mind in jail means a life in jail. The reason we must think right is because thinking helps us to perceive the world and our life in new ways, identify new methods, find hidden patterns, make connections between seemingly unrelated phenomena, and generate solutions from one place to the next. If the prison-break can happen in and for your mind, your life can no longer be caged by or in anything. Transforming your mind is your responsibility!
